1. No Personal Data Collected
Verax does not collect, store, or process any personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other identifying information. No account or registration is required to use this tool.
2. Local Storage
Saved strategies are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data.
3. No Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies. A single localStorage key ("verax_toured") is used to remember whether you have completed the onboarding tour — this is purely functional and contains no personal information.
4. Backtest Requests
When you run a backtest, your selected parameters (tickers, dates, risk settings) are sent to our backend API to compute results. These requests are not logged with any identifying information and are not stored after the response is returned.
5. Third-Party Data
Market data is fetched from Tiingo. When our server retrieves this data, your browser communicates only with our API — not directly with Tiingo. Please review Tiingo's own privacy policy for how they handle data requests.
6. Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics (such as Plausible Analytics) to understand aggregate usage patterns — for example, how many people use the backtest feature. No personal data is collected and no cross-site tracking occurs.
7. Changes
We may update this policy at any time. Since we collect no personal data, changes are unlikely to affect you materially. Continued use of the site indicates acceptance of any updates.
